Harris County Precinct 6 Reserve Deputies are fully licensed state of Texas Peace Officers. Each is vested with the same authority and responsibilities of all Texas peace officers as defined by Texas Code of Criminal Procedure.
Reserve Deputies perform a valuable service to the Precinct 6 community by volunteering law enforcement services no less than three 8-hour shifts per month. Reserve Deputies work in all divisions of the department and often are hired for permanent full-time paid positions. Several Reserve Deputies have served our community for more than a decade.
Persons interested in becoming a Harris County Precinct 6 Reserve Deputy must have unwavering honesty, integrity beyond reproach and a genuine desire to help the members of our community whom we have the honor and privilege of serving.

Reserve Deputy applicants must have a current peace officer's license issued by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement. Those with prior law enforcement experience must have been Honorably Discharged from any previous law enforcement agency. The New Precinct 6 offers a variety of experience and assignments and seeks diversity within its ranks.
